The total traffic handled at JNPA during the month of Dec-2023 is 7.39 million tonnes, which is 3.20% lower as against 7.63 million tons in Dec-2022. This month’s traffic includes 6.75 million tonnes of container traffic and 0.64 million tonnes of Bulk Cargo as against 6.89 million tonnes of container traffic and 0.73 million tonnes of bulk traffic in the corresponding month of last year respectively.
In terms of container traffic, 575,651 TEUs were handled at JNPA during the month of Dec-2023, which is 10.27% higher as against of 522,029 TEUs handled in Dec-2022. Out of this, 184,282 TEUs at BMCT (+14.52%), 93,360 TEUs at NSIGT (+9.07%), 153,030 TEUs at APMT (-11.74%), 94,079 TEUs at NSICT(-7.88%), 50,483 TEUs at NSFT and 417 TEUs at NSDT were handled. Nhava Sheva Freeport Terminal (NSFT) and Nhava Sheva Distribution Terminal (NSDT) have started operations from 14th Feb-2023 & 26th May 2023 respectively.
The total traffic handled at JNPA during the calendar year 2023 (Jan-2023 to Dec-2023) is 86.49 million tonnes, which is 6.61% higher as against 81.13 million tonnes during corresponding period in previous calendar year. This includes 78.78 million tonnes of container traffic and 7.71 million tonnes of Bulk Cargo as against 73.59 million tonnes of container traffic and 7.54 million tonnes of bulk traffic in the corresponding period of last year respectively.
In terms of container traffic, 6,354,399 TEUs were handled at JNPA during the calendar year 2023 (Jan. to Dec-2023) which is 6.63% higher as against 5,959,112 TEUs handled in CY 2022 (Jan. to Dec-2022). Out of this, 2,075,208 TEUs were handled at BMCT (+31.25%), 1,185,688 TEUs at NSICT (+15.29%), 1,518,384 TEUs at APMT (-20.46%), 1,121,889 TEUs at NSIGT (-1.58%), 449,162 TEUs at NSFT, 3,908 TEUs at NSDT, and 160 TEUs at JNPCT. The total traffic handled at JNPA during the period from April-2023 to Dec-2023, is 63.83 million tonnes, which is 4.30% higher as against 61.20 million tonnes during corresponding period in previous financial year. This includes 58.08 million tonnes of container traffic and 5.74 million tonnes of Bulk Cargo as against 55.50 million tonnes of container traffic and 5.70 million tonnes of bulk traffic in the corresponding period of last year respectively.
In terms of container traffic, 4,755,251 TEUs were handled at JNPA during the Apr-2023 to Dec-2023 which is 6.82% higher as against 4,451,764 TEUs handled during corresponding period in previous financial year. Out of this, 1,554,242 TEUs were handled at BMCT (+30.25%), 1,108,512 TEUs at APMT (-22.86%), 861,422 TEUs at NSICT (+11.48%), 827,696 TEUs at NSIGT (-1.80%), 399,471 TEUs at NSFT and 3,908 TEUs at NSDT. During Dec-2023, JNPA handled 566 container rakes and 91,580 TEUs as compared to 555 rakes and 89940 TEUs in Dec -2022.
During April-2023 to Dec-2023, JNPA handled 4,796 container rakes and 766,095 TEUs as compared to 4,907 rakes and 764,822 TEUs during corresponding period in previous financial year.
1. JNPA handled 575,651 TEUS of containers in Dec-2023 which is all time highest container traffic handled in a month, surpassing previous high of 555,270 TEUs handled in August, 2023.
2. JNPA handled 309 cargo vessels which is all time highest number of vessels handled in a month, surpassing previous high of 305 cargo vessels in October, 2023.
