The total traffic handled at JNPT during the month of November-2021 was 6.44 million tonnes, which is 13.08% higher against 5.70 million tonnes in November-2020. This month’s traffic includes 5.86 million tonnes of container traffic and 0.59 million tons of Bulk Cargo as against 5.10 million tonnes of container traffic and 0.59 million tons of bulk traffic in the corresponding month of last year respectively. The growth in container traffic in November-2021 was 14.79% and decrease in bulk cargo was 1.16% as against corresponding month of last year.
The total traffic handled at JNPT during the April-2021 to November-2021 of the FY 2021-22 was 49.05 million tonnes as against 38.36 million tonnes, which is 27.85% higher over the same period of last year.
In terms of TEUs, container traffic handled at JNPT during the April-2021 to November-2021 of the FY 2021-22 was 3,652,474 TEUs as against 2,762,173 TEUs, which is 32.23% higher over the container traffic in the same period of last year.
JNPT handled 473,108 TEUs during the month of November-2021. The container traffic is increased by 14.35% over the same month of last year. Out of this, 113,593 TEUs were handled at BMCT (+75.29%), 73,803 TEUs at NSICT (+22.48%), 95,502 TEUs at NSIGT (+13.33%), 154,256 TEUs at APMT (+2.53%), and 35,954 (-33.38%) TEUs by JNPCT.
Growth in TEUs handled in November-2021 at BMCT is 75.29%, 22.48% at NSICT, 13.33% at NSIGT and 2.53% at APMT as compared to container traffic handled in the same month previous year i.e. November-2020.
JN Port handled 80,558 TEUS of ICD traffic from 515 Rakes during November-2021 and the Rail-Coefficient in November-2021 was 17.03% and 17.83% in FY 2021-22 (Apr to Nov.).
Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT), registered a throughput of over 4.7 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in container handling as against 5.03 million TEUs during FY 2020. The total traffic handled at JNPT during the Financial Year 2020-21 is 64.81 million tons as against 68.45 million tons in FY 2019-20.
JNPT has five container terminals, taking an overview of the numbers terminal wise, APM Terminals Mumbai (GTI) handled 1.66 million TEUs, DP World NSIGT with 0.78 million TEUs, DP World NSICT with 0.75 million TEUs and the Port owned JNPCT with 0.54 million TEUs. The Newly developed BMCT handled around 0.93 million TEUs during the FY 2021. NSICT and BMCTPL have recorded 41.33% and 15.36% growth in FY 2020-21 in comparison with FY 2019- 20 respectively.
JNPT BPCL Liquid Cargo Terminal handled highest LPG during FY 2020-21 of 1.04 million tonnes from 70 vessels which is 22.35% higher as compared previous highest of 0.85 million tonnes from 57 vessels in FY 2019-20. JNPT also handled 6,097 Rakes during FY 2020-21 and the RailCoefficient in FY 2020-21 (Apr. to Mar.) is 19.73% as compared to 16.14% in FY 2019-20 with 5,127 rakes.
Major improvement in Avg. Turn-round Time of all vessels by 2.62% i.e from 29.42 hrs to 28.64 hrs as well as for container vessels by 2.01% i.e from 25.82 hrs to 25.30 hrs from Pilot Boarding to De-boarding in FY 2020-21 in comparison with FY 2019-20.
